Intel planning Viiv 1.5 and 2.0

Posted on Friday, December 30 2005 @ 23:15:20 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Intel's Viiv home entertainment platform will be launched in January and there are already talks about Viiv 1.5 and Viiv 2.0, according to The Inq.

Viiv 1.5 will feature Merom based processors instead on Yonahs, more performance, a higher power consumption and 64-bit. It should be around by Summer 2006.

Then there's also Viiv 2.0 which is expected for the end of 2006. Likely this platform will feature Windows Vista.
