    Infinium announces Phantom Lapboard

Posted on Saturday, December 31 2005 @ 00:45:53 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Infinium Labs has been promising the launch of their Phantom console for quite a while now - many people believe it's vaporware - and now it looks like they will finally release something.

But it won't be their console, it will be a wireless keyboard and mouse designed for gaming. With the Phantom Lapboard the company aims to offer gamers a more intuitive interface and they will take lefties in mind, too.

The keyboard will rotate for either right- or left-handed gamers, with two sets of inverted T-directional keys.
Infinium's Phantom Lapboard has a range of 30 feet, places the mouse under the keyboard to keep hands closer together, and features full-size keys and an extended space bar—all in the name of optimizing your gaming experience.

The Lapboard is part of a broader online offering to be delivered by Infinium, including a wide-ranging library of broadband games with both the avid gamer and the casual participant in mind.
More info over here. The price of the Lapboard isn't known yet but it should be available in Q2 2006.
