Intel 975X chipset doesn't support Conroe yet

Posted on Saturday, January 28 2006 @ 00:46:12 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

VR Zone tested a couple of Intel 975X based motherboards and concludes none of them can support the upcoming Conroe processors and not even a BIOS update will be able to fix it.

According to them a couple of hardware modifications are needed to get the Conroe running on the 975X chipset.

It's believed a new 975X chipset revision will come out within a couple of months with support for Conroe.
