HardwareZone took a look at the GA-K8NXP-9 motherboard which is based on the nForce 4 ultra chipset:

Based on the same nForce4 Ultra chipset, the GA-K8N Ultra-9 was an almost identical twin to the GA-K8NXP-9. However, since the board targets a lower market bracket, Gigabyte stripped down its feature set, mainly removing the D.P.S. slot and support for M.I.B.2 memory optimization. Gigabyte even went as far as to slap on a plain passive heatsink onto the nForce4 Ultra MCP to send their point across (the GA-K8NXP-9 had a fancy honeycomb active cooler). While the GA-K8N Ultra-9 is supposed to play the little brother, we felt that the board may provide enthusiasts with a better value overall. Why this is so?
