    Toshiba Portege R200-S234 Review

Posted on Thursday, September 29 2005 @ 00:28:34 CEST by LSDsmurf

Go superportable with the light but pricey Toshiba Portégé R200-S234, a svelte laptop that measures less than inch thick and weighs 2.8 pounds, but costs $2414. This unit has long battery life going for it: The R200 lasted 4 hours and 38 minutes on one charge in our tests. The notebook is missing some connections, but I was impressed with just how much else this trim unit offers. You get a 12.1-inch XGA screen and a surprisingly good keyboard. The layout isn't perfect--the key is awkwardly buried in the bottom row --but it was good enough to let me pound out 80 words a minute (okay, maybe 60--I'm a little rusty). The touchpad, a gray-skinned membrane set in a snazzy chrome panel bottom-lit by a blue LED, works fine with the unit's two small mouse buttons.. You can learn lots more about this laptop over at PCWorld.com's full review..
