    *Exclusive* photos of 500MHz MCST R500, Russian server processor Review

    Recently Elbrus MCST, Moscow Center of Sparc Technology, announced and launched mass production of the new Russian server processor, MCST R500. Today we are proudly introducing the first photos of this novelty. The MCST R500 belongs to the family of SPARC-compliant MCST-R series. It's made using 0.13µm process with 8 metallization layers, operates at 450-500MHz, consumes <2W, features 4.2 million transistors, 20mm? crystal, requires 1.2/3.3V voltage, provides 400 MIPS, 170 MFLOPS performance, and is encased into 420-pin BGA package.
