ASUS Extreme N7800 GTX TOP PCI-E 256MB videocard Review

Posted on Saturday, November 19 2005 @ 23:30:55 CET by LSDsmurf

The cooler featured on the ASUS 7800GTX TOP is similar to what we are seeing emerge from a lot of videocard companies lately - that is, a dual slot design that has an exhaust for dumping the air out the back of the case, shaped in a manner that reminds you of a hair dryer. The reason such cooling was adopted rather than a more standard solution was because the 7800GTX TOP actually comes pre-overclocked right from the beginning. In fact, the clock speeds here are 486MHz on the core and 1350MHz on the RAM, as opposed to the 7800GTX's default clocks of 430MHz on the core and 1.2GHz on the RAM.
