    GeiL Ultra Platinum PC4400 Review

Posted on Monday, May 10 2004 @ 17:14:33 CEST by LSDsmurf

In terms of the overclocking abilities, the best I could crank the GeIL up to and still have a stable machine was 280MHz with the memory at 2.8V and CPU @ 1.675V. Anything above 280MHz, and the system would randomly start locking up in the middle of the benchmarks, at 285MHz and up, BSODs would begin rearing their ugly heads on a rather constant basis. No amount of voltage tweaking on to the CPU or airflow over the memory modules would resolve these issues. Unfortunately this motherboard only allows for up to 2.8V to be applied to the DDR, so there's no way of knowing whether or not it would handle more with a little bit more juice flowing.
