The Audioengine 5 ($349 list) is a set of beefy, bookshelf-size powered stereo speakers suitable for any audio source but clearly designed with the iPod aesthetic in mind. Its standout feature is its built-in amplifier, which eliminates the need to hook up the Audioengine to a receiver: Just plug your MP3 player or other audio source directly into the left speaker via one of two 3.5mm audio input jacks. The left speaker has a USB port for charging any USB-chargeable MP3 player and an auxiliary AC power outlet which you can use to plug in an Apple AirPort Express device and run the speakers wirelessly from your PC.
