AMD Geode LX DB800 Mini-ITX motherboard Review

Posted on Monday, February 26 2007 @ 20:29:08 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

AMD initially introduced the Geode LX 800@0.9W Processor and the Geode LX DB800 Development Board back in May 2005 and we first published some photos of the Mini-ITX board during Computex that year. Then last year during Computex 2006 I was amazed to see how many companies were releasing Mini-ITX motherboards based on the Geode LX platform. I have to say that this level of commitment to the platform was certainly something that I hadn't expected, especially given that most companies had been relatively quiet about these boards. … So what exactly is the Geode LX platform, how does it compare to its Geode NX family-members and how does it fare against competing products? I'll try and explore all that and more in this review.
