    ASUS G1 Notebook Review

Posted on Wednesday, February 28 2007 @ 19:44:19 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

When you think about the "gaming" laptops, images of the Dell XPS and Alienware flash to mind- big, bulky notebooks that generate a lot of heat and noise. So when ASUS announced their latest series of gaming notebooks with reduced weight, heat and bulk, I wondered what ASUS meant with gaming. That is exactly what we'll find out today with their G1 notebook. Measuring 13.9 x 11.1 x 1.3 inches and weighing slightly over 3KGs, the G1 is definitely lighter and smaller than the 4.0Kg Dell XPS, however, it still looks reasonably big and bulky- definitely more so than your average 15" notebook. ASUS packs it securely to avoid any damage during shipping and handling and includes four power cables with different connectors so that you can easily connect it wherever in the world you travel to. Besides the power charger, we had a small users guide and installation/applications DVDs in the package.
