    MSI 7900GS/512MB Review

Posted on Thursday, March 29 2007 @ 16:54:59 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The nVidia 7900GS is positioned towards the lower-end of the main stream segment which generally translates into a "better bang for your buck". The graphics card that we're looking at today was provided by MSI and surprisingly, comes equipped with 512MB RAM which seems a bit high for a mainstream card. One of the strange things about the 7900GS is that its available in a variety of speeds. We searched newegg.com and found frequencies between 450MHz to 600MHz for the GPU. MSI locks their card at 550MHz which is supposedly slightly overclocked.
