DOOM3 Midrange ATI / Midrange Athlon XP Performance Scaling Review

Posted on Friday, August 06 2004 @ 10:35:53 CEST by LSDsmurf

At [800x600]the limiting factor with Medium Quality graphics is fillrate while High Quality is more memory dependent. Notice the relatively linear scaling of the 9800 Pro at 800x600 while the 9700 Pro starts to level off. Contrast that to high quality where the 9800Pro starts leveling off a lot quicker and does not scale linearly with the processor speed. Fillrate remains the same as we are still at 800x600 in both cases.
