Albatron nForce 680i LT SLI Review

Posted on Thursday, May 24 2007 @ 12:30:50 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Today we took a look at a new motherboard from Albatron based on the Nvidia nForce 680i LT SLI chipset. Although this is an Albatron motherboard it was actually designed and produced by Nvidia, which is why it looks very much like a generic reference board. For $200 US we were somewhat unimpressed with this product...

Well there you have it, we finally got our look at the Nvidia nForce 680i LT SLI and now we are beginning to understand why none of the major manufacturers have adopted this chipset. The Albatron nForce 680i LT SLI is a fairly featureless motherboard at the $200 US price point. For this money we would expect a hell of a lot more. Realistically a single Gigabit LAN port is not going to be enough, nor is the board design, and the active cooling just kills the deal all together.
