    ATi Radeon HD3870 Review

Posted on Thursday, November 29 2007 @ 21:07:20 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Things always seem to happen when you least expect them. One week and one day after we where on the AMD "Benchmarkfest" in Warsaw, where also was the launch of the Radeon 3000 series, which represents the newest development in the midrange segment, and we released our little preview of the Radeon HD3870 and the 3850 cards, the first graphic card with the RV670 arrived in our editorial office.

The card which arrived was the bigger one of the two new 3d chips, the Radeon HD3870. We tested the graphic card and compared it to other 3D cards. In particular we compared it to the nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT and to the predecessor model, the AMD/ATi Radeon HD2900XT. Other Cards we compared the HD3870 with: ATi/AMD Radeon X1950 XT, GeForce 7900 GTX, GeForce 8800 GTS, GeForce 8800 GTX and the 8800 Ultra OC.
