    Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 Review

Posted on Monday, February 18 2008 @ 19:22:37 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Introducing the all new GA-X48-DQ6 from our friends over at Gigabyte, this is their flagship motherboard for the new Intel 1600MHz FSB CPU line and it looks like a winner from first glance. The motherboard comes in an all gold box that is so shiny it gleams and reflects in the light. Featuring support for ATI's dual VGA card CrossFire cards and DDR3 memory are just the tip of the iceburg on this one folks. Intel’s X48 chipset brings a lot to the table including support for the latest Yorkfield CPUs. Gigabyte has done a wonderful job with the chipset allowing the end-user to use DDR2 memory which has lower latency per clock than the newer DDR3 memory and is less expensive and more readily available compared to the newer memory. The GA-X48-DQ6 has all of the features that the enthusiast would want from a new motherboard and higher performance than the X38 to boot.
