Samsung SyncMaster 192MP 19" Multifunctional Display Review

Posted on Monday, October 04 2004 @ 22:05:36 CEST by LSDsmurf

Our last encounter with a LCD monitor was awesome as we took a look at Samsung's mammoth 213T 21.3" LCD monitor. Well they are back, but this time with more features. Today we look at their new 192MP 19" LCD monitor, a multifunctional display unit with the capability to perform as a monitor, TV (using its optional TV tuner) , or both with its PIP (Picture-in-Picture) feature. It accepts inputs from pretty much any video device you can think of (ie: PC, Air/Cable TV, DVD, VCR, Camcorder) and comes HDTV ready. If you click on the thumbnail on the next page you can read the line of text on the base of the 192MP which says "Digital Versatility", exactly what Samsung had in mind when creating the MP line. They envision the user being able to switch from using the PC, to watching TV, to watching a DVD all with a simple push of a button. This is the first multifunctional display that we've been able to review, and from the press release and spec. sheet, this monitor looks very promising. Like the 213T, the 192MP is sporting Samsung's Patterned Vertical Alignment (PVA) technology - "the latest advancement in liquid crystal cell structure for improved viewing".
