    Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo-A Review

Posted on Tuesday, October 05 2004 @ 01:49:22 CEST by LSDsmurf

Not everyone is ready to do a complete switch over to the new Intel LGA 775 platform quite yet and perhaps for good reason. Should you decided you would like to say take a peek at it without having to "Sell the farm" the Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo-A is the motherboard for you. Since its key component is the i915P chipset it allows you the best of both worlds. You can use your old DDR memory or spring for some new DDR2 memory at a later date. You say you don't want to buy a PCI-Express video just yet? Well thanks to Gigabyte's proprietary G.E.A.R. slot. (GIGABYTE Enhanced AGP Riser) you can continue to use your current AGP video card.
