    Topram 1GB SD Card Review

Posted on Tuesday, October 12 2004 @ 16:51:07 CEST by LSDsmurf

Don't let size of this card fool you. The card may look small but has a monstrous storage capacity. I have a Compact Flash GPS attached to my Dell Axim X5. Having a GPS can be very handy when going on long trips. However sometimes it can be frustrating when you don't have enough room to store the maps and you have to switch media to continue your route. I noticed that the GPS gave me a choice of using internal memory or external memory to store the maps. I downloaded 28 full state maps to my card. I then synced and then ran the GPS. I noticed that the GPS did not slow down at all reading the data off of the SD card and I had a peaceful travel. With SD card prices dropping everyone should pick up a card or two. The card was able to store data for half of the United States. You could go from NY to California without switching cards provided you drive thru less than 28 states to get there.
