    Cooler Master's Sniper chassis Review

Posted on Wednesday, January 14 2009 @ 13:59:01 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

At £120 the Sniper is competing with a big portion of the enthusiast case market, not to mention other Cooler Master products in the form of the HAF 932, that is now outstanding value at just £92. The RC-1000 version of the Cosmos, is also now available for just over £130, essentially making Cooler Master compete with itself!

At this price there’s also competition from Akasa in the form of its Omega, although like the Sniper you’ll need to add a pair of your own 120mm cooling fans to get the best out of it and there’s also the ever present competition of the Antec P182.

It’s a shame really as while the Sniper is clearly very well put together, well thought out and packs some exclusive and very attractive features, it’s been slightly let down by some obvious cost cutting attempts and a price tag that’s £20 too high (we realise the oxymoron). That 240mm side panel fan alone would have gone a long way to improve thermal performance and would have helped to justify the price tag.
