Seagate Barracuda ST3500418AS - 500 GB on one platter Review

Posted on Friday, June 05 2009 @ 15:53:58 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

In January we had a look at three 500 GB hdds and the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS with its 32 MB cache dominated the test. Now we had a chance to test the new Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS which uses a single 500 GB platter. That makes the drive quiet, cool and energy effiecient - but what about performance?
