The Sanyo is unlike most of the plasmas we've encountered. We've only seen one other 32incher (Hitachi's CL32PD2100, in February 2002), so we were intrigued by this set's modest dimensions. But also confused... The point, we thought, of scaling down plasmas to a more manageable size is to make them a realistic replacement for CRT TVs. The styling and spec for this model, however, is anything but front-room friendly. This is a squat little set, finished in foreboding gunmetal grey: not what you'd call slinky. We've seen thinner 42inch screens, which is a bit of a mystery. Also, despite its small screen size, it's actually quite weighty as one of our couriers will gladly testify, so don't try lugging it around by yourself.
