    Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 Review

Posted on Thursday, October 22 2009 @ 03:01:26 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The new DMC-FZ35 is the first wide-angle megazoom camera (18x) offering higher-quality high-def videos. 2009 will go down as the year HD video and digital cameras joined at the hip. Most high-quality digicams take 720p movies, a huge step up from standard-def clips. Check them out on a big-screen HDTV (42 inches plus) and the results will stare you in the face - and that's a good thing. Panasonic is one of the few companies using AVCHD Lite, a variation of the system used by expensive high-def camcorders such as the Canon Vixia HF S10. Available also in the $349 Lumix DMC-ZS3 and the GF1, AVCHD Lite is not as good as true AVCHD, but the quality is a cut above the competition. Let's see how far that is, as we put the FZ35 through some hoops.
