Half Life 2: video card and driver performance revealed Review

Posted on Wednesday, November 17 2004 @ 13:48:37 CET by LSDsmurf

Half Life 2 has arrived! Yes early this morning Steam authentication was activated, and we finally have access to the long awaited game. Sure there are questions about gameplay, but what about performance? We had a first glimpse at Valve's Source Engine performance when Counter-Strike was updated. Back then we ran the game through plenty of testing on several video cards. This was great, but we were itching to get the real deal and bench it to our hearts content. To up the ante we moved from AGP cards to PCI Express cards based on Nvidia and ATI chipsets using the new nForce 4 Ultra chipset.
