Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce 4 SLI motherboard Review

Posted on Thursday, November 25 2004 @ 18:08:19 CET by LSDsmurf

Now on to the slots as we see two PCI 16X slots, two PCI 1X slots, and three PCI slots. When using one video card the blue 16X slot is used, and it will run at 16X. When using both slots for SLI each card will use 8 lanes of PCI Express. Nvidia had the best performance when the lanes were equal on each card. Now Tyan circumvents this limit by using two nForce 4 chipsets on their dual Opteron dual 16X SLI board, but that is not aimed at the enthusiast market as the A8N-SLI Deluxe is.
