OCZ Vertex LE (Limited Edition) 100GB SSD Review

Posted on Saturday, February 20 2010 @ 20:16:31 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

OCZ Technology recently unveiled the highly anticipated Vertex Limited Edition (LE) Solid-State Drive and we have run our benchmark suite on it and are ready to show you what it can do. The Vertex LE 100GB and 200GB SSDs use the Sandforce SF-1500 controller and Intel MLC Flash in order to come with factory rated transfer speeds of up to 270MB/s read and 250MB/s write!

Quote: "The OCZ Vertex LE is one of the fastest SSDS that we have ever seen here at Legit Reviews. It was able to give the Intel X25-M G2 160GB SSD and Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB drives a run for their money in many of the benchmarks. We were able to reach read speeds of up to 290MB/sec. and write speeds of up to 240MB/sec in ATTO on the Vertex LE and that was impressive. We were able to get much higher than the 270MB/s max read speed, but we were unable to reach the advertised max write of 250MB/s on our test system in any benchmark. The Vertex Limited Edition SSD has just 5,000 pieces available and with performance results like these they shouldn't be around for too long..."
