Whenever Nikon or Canon release a new DSLR the words that come out of most journalists' mouths are usually: "which camera is it replacing?" This is inevitable due to both companies continual churn of products which keep up with (and create) significant market changes. With the Nikon D7000, though, it's a little different, as the camera isn't so much replacing another DSLR, more squeezing itself between the D90 and D300S.
