    SuperWorkstation 7044A-82 Review

Posted on Sunday, January 30 2005 @ 18:38:00 CET by LSDsmurf

Recently, I tested Supermicro's SuperServer 7044A-82R and while I thought it was a fantastic box overall, I did have a couple of complaints about the noise level. It just wasn't quiet enough for me to leave it running in my home-office 24x7. Supermicro must have been reading my mind because recently they sent me a new workstation they've been working on, labelled the SuperWorkstation 7044A-82. It's categorized as a "high-power" solution aimed directly at the power user. Supermicro also has the 7034A which is categorized as a "high-value" solution aimed more towards the regular users out there who don't need the excessive features like hot-swappable U320 SCSI.
