I purchased a Canon Digital Rebel early last year for a killer price of $600 with the 18-55 kit lens and slowly learned the basics of good photography. I was quite happy with the Digital Rebel but I started to want more flexibility. I tinkered with the hacks that allowed some of the features from Canon's higher end dSLR cameras on the Digital Rebel but alas... the Digital Rebel has its own hardware limitations. I heard about Canon's impending release of the new significantly more powerful Digital Rebel XT. I pre-ordered it from Amazon.com and received it March 25, 2005...
