Choiix Power Fort Advanced battery pack

The Advanced edition includes a second bag for all the accessories.

Here's the USB AC wall charger.

Choiix includes interchangeable adapter tips so you can use the Power Fort in the US, EU, Australia and UK.

Below you can view a photo of the USB AC wall charger with the European power adapter attached to it.

You can use this charger by plugging a USB cable into the AC charger and connecting it to the Power Fort's mini-USB input port.

Also included is a USB car charger, this could be quite handy for people who are on the road a lot.

As I've mentioned before in this review, the Power Fort Advanced can be recharged via a USB port or through its AC charger. Four blue LEDs are integrated into the front of the Power Fort, these LEDs light up during charging to give you an indication of the battery status.

The Choiix Power Fort has a maximum output of 1.5A and it supports single charging and by-pass charging. When the Power Fort is connected to a power source and your device requires more than 100mA the Power Fort will start charging its internal battery after your device is fully charged, and when the device needs less than 100mA the Power Fort and the other device are charged at the same time.

Recharging the Power Fort takes just over three hours via the AC charger. I checked compatibility with several phones, sat navs and MP3 players and didn't encounter any problems. My only complaint is that charging via the Power Fort seems to take a bit more time than via the device's wall charger, but it's not a huge difference.

    Conclusion
The Choiix Power Fort is a great solution for gadget-loving travelers. It has enough capacity to provide a full charge to your phone and MP3 player while still keeping a lot of spare juice, and as an added bonus it has an integrated flashlight that will definitely come in handy every once in a while. The standard edition ships for around $44.99, but in my opinion you should consider to spend $10 more to get the Advanced edition because this model is a much more complete solution. The AC charger is indispensable and the international adapters plus the car charger should be useful accessories if you travel a lot.

    The Good Stuff
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Enough capacity to give most smartphones two charges or more
  • Advanced edition includes useful adapters
  • Includes a flashlight

    The Bad Stuff
  • Only for USB devices

I give the Choiix Power Fort Advanced a 8.5/10.
