    RegCompact.NET 1.8

Posted on Thursday, May 12 2005 @ 12:39:11 CEST by LSDsmurf

The latest release of RegCompact.NET, version 1.8 has been released today by ExperimentalScene.

RegCompact.NET will enhance Windows performance by fixing an issue with Windows that causes it to slow down, the fragmentation of data stored in the registry hives. This fragmentation is not the normal fragmentation files have caused by their location on disk, but rather that holes are left in the registry when data is deleted and written to the registry hives.

Over time the files become bloated and access is slow. Since most programs make use of the registry, especially Explorer, it is useful to optimize and compact your registry.

This version has important bug fixes and improvements over previous versions. RegCompact.NET is the most user friendly registry compactor available today, and it's completely free and open source. Hundreds of thousands of happy users have downloaded it so far to speed up their PC.
