The Inquirer reports that a couple of weeks after the launch of NVIDIA's GeForce 7800 GTX prices are already going down to the $550 range.

The GeForce 7800 GTX (G70) was launched at $599 and it is expected that over the next few weeks prices will further drop down to $499.

Things will even get more exciting as NVIDIA will soon launch the GeForce 7800 GT for an expected $449. However, one Add-in-board (AIB) manufacturer already claimed it expects the GeForce 7800 GT will retail for only $399.

The GeForce 7800 GT will likely run at 335MHz with memory clocked at 1100MHz. The number of pipelines should remain the same as it's big brother and it should also be immediately available in stores.

It seems ATI has a problem as their R520 is only expected somewhere in September.
