The 256 and 856 come in at $851 and $1,514, respectively. While the addition of the 256 left the prices of the other 2xx series chips unchanged, the 856 pushed the already available 854 down to $1,165, a drop of 23.1 per cent. AMD similarly pruned the prices of the 8xx HE chips, reducing the price of the 850 HE from $1,514 to $1,165 - a fall of 23.1 per cent. The 848 HE now costs $873, down 25.1 per cent from $1,165. The 846 HE's price was cut 34.8 per cent, from $698 to $455.
