AMD to optimize CPUs for Linux?

According to DailyTech, AMD may optimize its processors for Linux:
It looks like AMD wants to optimize future AMD processors to run Linux. One of the current job openings for the company is a position for a Linux kernel developer, who will help processor designers "better support the requirements of modern operating systems in future processor generations." The research group in Dresden could be an important step for AMD to further integrate the powers of Linux.
