The BoxHeads, one of the largest LAN organizations in
Michigan, which attracts visitors from all over the Midwest and Canada,
had held its first LAN event for the year. While their venue was the
limiting factor, yesterday's event was for 144 gamers and a complete day
full of various gaming and hardware activities. A great deal of prizes
were given away, and Phoronix had also sponsored a unique computer
modding competition. Team ATI was also out in force at the event. While
the event was largely a success, there were some damaging power issues.
Here at Phoronix we have a great deal of photographs to share this
morning from exploding power supplies, an Ubuntu modded case, and an
interesting X1900XTX CrossFire setup powering a 1-on-1 Daikatana
tournament.
