The Inquirer saw Toshiba's HD DVD notebook at the E3 show and reports it also features a multifunction backlit trackpad:
The best of the bunch was the backlit trackpad function buttons. Instead of the useless keys you have on top of the laptop, you now have a bunch of useless keys on the trackpad, and they are backlit. And blue. And bright. Still useless, but they do look cool, see?
The other cool one was an HD-DVD player on a laptop. DRM infections aside, a massive increase in storage seems like a very good thing in a portable form factor. HD-DVD movies on an airplane also seem like a good idea, but I shudder to think of the battery life.
