NVIDIA GeForce 7950GX2 to cost $600

The Inquirer writes the G71 GPU is having great yields in TSMC's fabs, allowing NVIDIA to drop prices of its products.

/ This also helps the GeForce 7950GX2, which will be launched later this month:
Now, we learn that a 1GB GDDR-3, two-G71-GPU-powered product will be available at least from one manufacturer at amazingly low $600, or Euros, in the Eurozone. We expect the UK price to end up in between 399 or 449 squids.

The only problem which comes to my mind is that shelling out $600 for a DX9 GPU in a year in which at least one manufacturer will launch a DirectX 10 capable product... may not be the smartest thing if you're gunning for the absolute performance. Even if it is double-barrelled.
