The Inquirer reports AMD is planning to build a third fab in Germany. According to German news reports the company will announce this project on Monday.
Along with a third fab, AMD will refurbish its existing facilities at its Dresden site. The figure of a billion Euros has been bandied about.

At the beginning of April the firm outlined plans for significant investment in its Dresden facilities. It seems that plans to modernise its existing fabs, numbers 30 and 36, have mutated into plans for a whole new building.
