NASA cancels Space Shuttle Discovery launch

Posted on Sunday, July 02 2006 @ 0:34 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck
NASA cancelled the launch of space shuttle Discovery because of poo weather conditions at the launch site at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Electrically charged anvil clouds near the launch site forced Nasa officials to scrub lift-off at the last minute.

Another flight attempt will be made on Sunday at 1526 EDT (1926 GMT).

Much is at stake for the mission with some believing the shuttle has still to prove its safety since the loss of the Columbia ship and its crew in 2003.
