AMD aims to reach 40 percent of the server processor market by 2009.
Commercial Business Vice President Marty Seyer told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of an R&D centre in Shanghai that there was no reason that AMD could not do this.

Sayer admitted that the outfit sold "below 20" percent share of the global computer microprocessors market by revenue. It hopes to increase this to a third of the market by 2008.
