HKEPC writes AMD is going to release a Athlon 64 X2 5200+ with a 65W TDP.
Socket AM2 Athlon 64 X2 5200+ is a 2.6GHz model with 1MBx2 L2 Cache, as same as Socket 939 Athlon 64 FX-60. Featuring 90nm Windsor core, it also has build-in Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz memory controller. There is no Energy Efficient version for Athlon 64 FX 5200+ as it’s already in 65W TDP, according to the latest roadmap for AMD’s Desktop processors.

In the previous time, all the 1MB x 2 L2 Cache AMD Athlon 64 X2 have been cut to against the price war to Intel, including X2 4000+ (2.0GHz), X2 4400+ (2.2GHz), and X2 4800+ (2.4GHz). However, sources indicate that there is also some 1MB x 2 L2 Cache Athlon 64 X2 for high-end product like Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2.6GHz), which is released in yesterday, and Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (2.8GHz) coming in Q1 2007.
