Passive cooled versions of the Radeon X1950 are on their way:
After being shoehorned into an AGP interface by Visiontek, the Radeon X1950 Pro is about to get the silent treatment from PowerColor. According to VR-Zone, PowerColor is cooking up versions of both the Radeon X1950 Pro and the faster Radeon X1950 XT with a new, completely passive cooler designed by Arctic Cooling.

Going by pictures of the upcoming Radeon X1950 Pro model, the cooler is a sight to behold: outfitted with four heat pipes, it takes up a slot next to the card and sticks out a couple of inches above the card's PCB. Thanks to its large size, though, the cooler's performance is supposedly good enough to yield slightly lower temperatures than the Radeon X1950 Pro's stock air cooler.
The passive cooled model will be available in Q1 2007, it will cost $10 more than a regular Radeon X1950 Pro.
