The particular Zune unit I was looking at had a rather good sized crack on the edge of the screen. This did surprise me somewhat, as I had heard about the supposed durability of the unit due to it's out shell. The Zune is built with a rubberized plastic out shell surrounding it's gooey innards, and although many assumed this would make for a much tougher player it was untested until now.
