NVIDIA focusing on Half Life 2

NFI has some inside information that NVIDIA will be focusing on Half Life 2 for the next few months because of the Doom III delay.

With the delay of Doom 3 until Q1 2004, nVidia is now going to focus on HL2 for a few months. This focus will likely result in a fix to the FSAA problem in this game, although the very nature of the fix remains uncertain: it could be a driver fix, or could even be NV38 only. This is however unlikely, because it would hurt the NV36 which is to appear later on and for which they already got silicon. The NV38 is also only a respin, so I fail to see how they'd do that type of things... In a completely unrelated note, coming from another source, the R420 is a 12x1. The NV40 is still a 8 pipelines design AFAIK

Anyway Half Life 2 his graphics without FSAA will be more than stunning so FSAA is not really necessary I think, especially when you are walking and shooting around in the game you will likely not notice any difference at all. So lets say this is mostly just a prestige and marketing issue for NVIDIA.
