The Firefox folks mostly used version 2.0.0.1 (64.35%) in January 2007 but a significant 24.48% stick with version 1.5.0.9.
Now lets take a look at the operating systems our visitors used:
DV Hardware - Jan 2006 operating system stats
DV Hardware - Jan 2007 operating system stats
In 2007 Windows XP was the most popular Windows OS for our visitors, with a marketshare of 92.76% of the Windows market. 3.36% of the Windows users used Windows 2000, 1.54% Windows Vista, 1.14% Windows 98, 1.05% Windows Server 2003 and some still use ME, NT or 95.
58.90% of the Mac users were using a PPC system while 41.08% already used one of those Intel-based Macs. For Linux there statistics aren't detailed enough, 99.82% used an "unknown version".
Conclusion
Since last year Internet Explorer lost about 6% marketshare to its competitors, while Firefox almost gained 7%. Despite the strong growth of the amount of Mac visitors, Safari's marketshare remained stable. Opera on the other hand experienced a fairly big hit from 4.25% to only 3.64%.
In the OS market Microsoft Windows lost marketshare to Apple's Mac OS and various Linux distributions. Apple gained 33.33% from 2.10% to 2.80% and Linux usage soared 54.78% from 1.15% to 1.78%.
Preliminarily data from the February stats shows Windows Vista is gaining popularity. In January 2007 (before the official launch) only 1.46% of our visitors used it, this month it's already 4.12%.
Based on the statistics, the average DVH reader uses either IE6, Firefox 2.0.0.1 or IE7 on a Windows XP system.
