Asus signed a contract with Best Buy to make its notebooks available at the more than 150 Best Buy retail stores in the U.S.

This includes the company's brand new Asus G1 notebook for gamers which features a "gaming keyboard", programmable OLED and 1.3 megapixel webcam.
Best Buy will first introduce ASUS' hot selling G1 series notebook to attract selective customers who seek innovative and stylish products that will enhance their lifestyles. According to Raymond Chen, Vice President of Marketing for ASUS in North America, "ASUS believes that a customer's enjoyment of a notebook depends on its moment to moment touch and feel. The company therefore uses the finest quality materials and engineers them into notebooks with outstanding fit and finish – products that 'feel like quality.' That's why the G1 is made with a glossy finish, in-mold decorating, metal accents, high contrast color, and the alluring Republic of Gamers emblem.'"

The G1 isn't just for gamers. It is designed to strongly appeal to customers that are looking for raw power, over the top specifications, and "quality you can feel." Its styling is spectacular. And its enhanced, ultra-high resolution screen provides a new level of visual experience that will appeal to everyone.

Those that do use the G1 for gaming will find the experience incredible. Powered by an NVIDIA 7700 512MB dedicated graphics engine, the G1 offers furious performance needed for the latest 3D games. It also offers a basket full of unique features designed just for gamers, such as iIlluminating sidelights that flash with each explosion, a customizable OLED lets users know when instant messages arrive, and a gaming keyboard makes interaction with games seamless. One glance at the G1, and you know no other notebook will do.
