It seems that Biostar has silently launched a new motherboard based on the cheap i848 chipset.
The i848 is basically a stripped down and cheaper version of the Springdale chipset, without dual channel memory support. But motherboards based on it do support Intel his upcoming CPU, the Prescott.

The Biostar P4TSP-D2 supports most of the latest features. It has support for 400/533 and 800MHz FSB and has two memory sockets which support maximum 2GB of DDR400 memory.

It has eight USB 2.0 ports (4 rear and 4 internal), integrated LAN, two Serial ATA ports, two IDE ports, AGP 8x, integrated AC97 audio and more.. Full specifications can be found here

Details about pricing and availability are unknown, but the price will not be too high because this is a budget motherboard, just like this i848 motherboard from Albatron which costs $92 in Japan.
