Here are the details of the Radeon 9800XT and 9600XT GPU chipsets!
Even though I knew at the time of my last story a week ago , I found it hardly possible to believe that the final clock speed is actually 412MHz for the GPU and 730MHz for memory.

ATI performance projections were suggesting 7000 3Dmarks03 and were talking about a 425+ MHz clocked GPU. We reckon that this core simply didn't want to give satisfactory yields at more than this magical 412 MHz but still, the original core speeds have increased from 325 MHz to 412 MHz. That's a lot!

The Radeon 9600XT is a 500MHz core and 600MHz memory card and it will be fun to see the core to core performance fight between Nvidia NV36 and 9600XT. Radeon 9600XT has all it needs to outperform Radeon 9500 PRO, still king of the sub $200 market.
