Revoltec will debut its new ALU GUARD 3.5" IDE to USB unit at the Games Convention 2007 in Leipzig this week. The 3.5" cases are made of solid aluminium, providing impact protection, cooling and reduced noise emissions. A mounting frame ensure the shock-proof installation of hard disks in the solid aluminium case.

The heart of the ALU GUARD model variants is the high-speed chip sets, which guarantee extremely fast data transfer (3GB SATA II).

Two of a total of six mobile data medium cases will be available in August 2007. The 3.5" IDE to USB 2.0 version (RS046) and the 3.5" SATA to e-SATA and USB 2.0 version (RS047). The recommended retail prices are €39.90 (RS046) and €49.90 (RS047)

The dimensions of the 3.5" ALU GUARD models are 205 x 129 x 41 mm (LxWxH). The model variants for IDE hard disks are fitted externally with a USB 2.0 connector and with the Cypress CY7C68300C-56PVXC(AT2-LP) chip set. The 3.5" SATA variant comes with a JMicron-JM20336 chip set. Discreet blue status LEDs indicate hard disk activity on all models.
