Twelve 45nm Intel Xeon processors in Q4 2007

Sources at Taiwanese motherboard makers claim Intel is getting ready to launch 12 new 45nm server processors in the last quarter of this year.

Pricing will vary from $199 to $1,199. Nine chips will be part of the quad-core Xeon 5400 series Harpertown lineup and three will be part of the dual-core Xeon 5200 Wolfdale series.

The quad-core models will be clocked between 2GHz and 3.16GHz with up to 12MB L2 cache while the dual-core Wolfdales will be clocked between 1.86GHz and 3.4GHz with 6MB L2 cache.

Most of these 12 CPUs will have a 1333MHz FSB, the 1.86GHz Wolfdale's bus will run at 1066MHz and two Harpertowns and one Wolfdale will have a 1600MHz FSB.
